urgent danger

AUREK is not an emergency service.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Do not wait for a Discord ticket response.

1. purpose and scope

This policy explains how to report illegal, dangerous or rule-breaking content and how AUREK may respond. It applies to the game server, Discord, website, applications, support systems, events and content submitted as evidence.

It should be read with the Terms of Use. AUREK may act on conduct that occurs outside its own services where there is a credible connection to player safety, a threat to the community, ban evasion, fraud, doxxing or another serious risk.

2. how to report

Use the official reporting or support ticket route in the AUREK Discord. Select the closest category and provide:

  • the account names and, where available, SteamID/SteamID64 and Discord user ID;
  • what happened, when it happened and where it occurred;
  • relevant screenshots, clips, message links, logs or witness details;
  • whether anyone is at immediate risk; and
  • any reason evidence must be handled confidentially.

Do not publicly repost illegal, intimate or child-sexual-abuse material to prove a report. Preserve links and context without downloading, forwarding or duplicating harmful content. Staff may ask for additional information through a restricted channel.

3. what should be reported

  • credible threats, stalking, doxxing, blackmail or encouragement of serious violence;
  • child grooming, sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material or attempts to move a child into unsafe private contact;
  • terrorism content, instructions facilitating serious offences, trafficking or other suspected illegal content;
  • non-consensual intimate images, sexual harassment or coercion;
  • hate, targeted harassment, impersonation, scams, phishing or account theft;
  • cheats, exploits, malware, denial-of-service activity or attempts to compromise AUREK systems;
  • ban evasion, corrupt staff conduct, evidence tampering or retaliation against a reporter; and
  • other serious breaches of the Terms or published community rules.

Ordinary roleplay disagreements or staff-service complaints can use the normal moderation or appeal route. Deliberately labelling a routine dispute as an emergency may slow genuine safety work.

4. child safety

AUREK has zero tolerance for grooming, sexual exploitation of children or child sexual abuse material. Users under 18 should not be asked for private images, home addresses, school details or secrecy from a parent or guardian.

AUREK may immediately restrict accounts, preserve necessary evidence, notify Discord, Steam or another platform, and report suspected offences or qualifying content to the National Crime Agency, police or another competent authority where required or appropriate. Staff must not conduct amateur confrontation or circulate harmful files.

If a younger user appears to be at immediate risk, contact emergency services or an appropriate child-protection body in addition to reporting to AUREK.

5. what AUREK may do

Depending on severity and available information, AUREK may:

  • acknowledge, triage, combine or prioritise reports;
  • remove content, lock channels, restrict features or preserve evidence;
  • issue warnings, mutes, role removals, temporary restrictions or permanent bans;
  • link related Steam, Discord, IP or gameplay records to investigate evasion or coordinated abuse;
  • ask platforms, hosts or security providers for assistance;
  • notify an affected person where safe and lawful;
  • refer a matter to law enforcement, regulators, child-protection bodies or rights holders; or
  • take no further action where evidence is insufficient, outside scope or not a breach.

AUREK can take protective action before an investigation is complete. A temporary restriction is not necessarily a final finding.

6. complaints and appeals

You may use the designated appeal or complaint route to challenge a moderation outcome, report handling or removal of content. State the decision, explain the alleged error and provide new or overlooked information.

Where practical, a person not responsible for the original decision should review serious complaints. We may refuse duplicate, abusive, threatening, clearly bad-faith or out-of-time complaints. An appeal does not automatically pause a protective restriction and does not guarantee reinstatement.

Privacy and copyright complaints have separate processes in the Privacy Notice and Copyright & Trademark Notice.

7. evidence, privacy and confidentiality

Reports may contain personal data about reporters, accused users, witnesses and staff. Access is limited to people who need it for moderation, safety, security, legal compliance or review.

We may not disclose every piece of evidence, reporter identity, security signal or internal discussion. We may provide a summary where full disclosure would expose another person, reveal anti-abuse methods, prejudice an investigation or create a legal or safety risk.

Knowingly fabricated evidence, malicious reporting, witness intimidation or retaliation can result in sanctions.

8. emergencies and external reporting

AUREK’s owners and volunteers are not trained emergency responders. For immediate threats to life or safety, contact the emergency services where the person is located. For account compromise, also use the recovery process of Discord, Steam or the relevant platform.

Reporting to AUREK does not replace reporting to police, a regulator, a platform or a specialist support organisation. We may preserve information and cooperate with a valid legal request, but cannot promise a particular external outcome.

9. misuse, record keeping and changes

Do not use the reporting system to harass staff, obtain private information, conduct discovery for an unrelated dispute or flood the service. We may rate-limit or restrict misuse while preserving access to a reasonable safety route where required.

AUREK should keep proportionate records of significant reports, actions, complaints and reviews, and periodically assess whether its safety controls remain suitable for the community. This policy may be updated as services, risks or legal obligations change.
