1. overview and acceptance

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the AUREK RP website, Garry’s Mod servers, Discord community, content services, applications, whitelists, events, staff systems and any other service operated under the AUREK name (together, the “Services”). AUREK RP (“AUREK”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is an independent fan community operated by its two owners, Lucifer in the United Kingdom and William in the United States.

By visiting, joining, connecting to, registering for or otherwise using a Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms, the Privacy Notice, the Safety & Reporting Policy, any server or Discord rules, and any additional rules shown for a particular event, role, whitelist or feature. When a form asks you to confirm particular facts or acknowledgements, those confirmations form part of your submission. If you do not agree, do not use the Services or submit the form.

Platform terms also apply. You remain responsible for complying with Steam, Garry’s Mod, Discord and any other third-party service you use to access AUREK.

2. eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old and meet any higher minimum age imposed by the law where you live or by Steam, Discord or another relevant platform.
• If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has permitted your use where required.
• You must use accounts you are authorised to use and provide accurate information in applications, feedback, tickets and appeals.
• Staff applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time they apply. AUREK may close or reject an application where the age requirement is not met or an age or identity statement appears false.
• You are responsible for account security and for activity carried out through your Steam, Discord or AUREK-linked identity. Tell us promptly if an account is compromised.
• You must not sell, trade, share or transfer an AUREK whitelist, rank, staff position or other permission unless AUREK expressly allows it.

We may require identity or account checks reasonably necessary to prevent impersonation, ban evasion, fraud, abuse or unauthorised access. We do not require government identification unless a specific lawful and proportionate need is explained.

3. licence and access

Subject to these Terms, AUREK gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to access the Services for ordinary personal, non-commercial community use.

AUREK does not promise that any person will be accepted, whitelisted, promoted, retained in a role or allowed to continue using a Service. Admission, staffing, ranks, factions, regiments, permissions and community participation are discretionary. Past treatment of another user does not create a right to the same outcome, and a failure to enforce a rule once does not waive our ability to enforce it later.

4. acceptable use

You must follow published rules and reasonable staff directions. You must not use the Services to:

• break the law, encourage unlawful conduct, threaten violence, exploit or endanger a child, or share illegal content;
• harass, stalk, intimidate, discriminate against, dox, blackmail or deliberately humiliate another person;
• post sexual content involving minors, grooming material, non-consensual intimate material or content intended to facilitate exploitation;
• cheat, exploit bugs, use unauthorised scripts or modifications, evade anti-cheat, duplicate items, manipulate the economy or gain an unfair advantage;
• evade a ban, restriction, mute, whitelist decision or account-level sanction, including through alternate accounts, VPNs, proxies or another person’s account;
• attack, probe, overload, disrupt or obtain unauthorised access to a server, website, database, account, API, bot, panel or network;
• upload malware, steal credentials, conduct phishing, scrape protected information or interfere with logging and moderation systems;
• impersonate AUREK, its owners, staff, other users or a third party, or falsely claim authority or endorsement;
• infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy, publicity or other rights;
• spam, advertise, solicit, recruit or operate a commercial service without written permission;
• publish private staff material, security methods, leaked files or confidential reports obtained without permission; or
• engage in conduct that, in AUREK’s reasonable judgment, damages the community, creates an unsafe environment, undermines roleplay or materially disrupts the Services, even if that exact conduct is not listed above.

Roleplay does not excuse real harassment, discrimination, threats, sexual misconduct or unlawful behaviour. You are responsible for separating in-character activity from out-of-character treatment of real people.

5. moderation, removal and appeals

AUREK may investigate conduct and take any action it considers appropriate, including warnings, content removal, chat restrictions, role removal, demotion, inventory or character resets, temporary suspension, permanent bans, deletion of applications, referral to a platform, preservation of evidence, and reports to authorities or rights holders.

An appeal route may be provided through the official Discord. Appeals are a review opportunity, not a guarantee of reinstatement. We may limit repeat, abusive or bad-faith appeals. A moderation decision may be final unless applicable law requires a further process.

We will not exercise discretion in a way that unlawfully discriminates or attempts to remove mandatory legal rights.

6. ranks, roles, whitelists and virtual items

Characters, ranks, staff positions, regiment places, whitelists, permissions, points, currency, inventory, vehicles, cosmetics and other in-service features are limited permissions or records within AUREK. They are not property, have no guaranteed cash value and do not create employment, partnership or ownership rights.

We may balance, rename, reset, wipe, transfer, restrict or remove them at any time. Leaving a role, inactivity, a rule breach, a technical issue, a server reset or closure may result in loss without compensation, subject to any non-excludable consumer rights that apply to a specific paid purchase.

No payment, donation, subscription, booster status or contribution buys immunity from rules or guarantees access, rank, influence or continued service.

7. logging, monitoring and evidence

When you connect or interact with AUREK, operational records may be created. These can include Steam identifiers, IP addresses, connection times, authentication results, character and gameplay records, text chat, commands, administrative actions, anti-cheat alerts, applications, reports and moderation history. We use these records to operate the server, maintain whitelists, investigate incidents, enforce sanctions, detect alternate accounts and ban evasion, secure systems and resolve disputes. The Privacy Notice explains this in detail.

You should assume that other players may independently capture gameplay, text or voice through screenshots, clips or streaming tools. AUREK is not responsible for recordings made by other users, but may act where their use breaches our rules or the law.

8. staff applications and event feedback

staff applications

• You must sign in using your own Discord account and must be at least 16 years old.
• You must provide accurate answers in your own words. Deliberately false, misleading, copied or impersonated applications may be rejected, closed or treated as misconduct.
• AUREK may verify reasonable account, role, activity or moderation information relevant to the application. Do not submit government identification, passwords, private keys, home addresses, medical details or other unnecessary sensitive information.
• Submitting an application does not guarantee acknowledgement, interview, appointment, training, rank or a reason for the outcome. Applications and staffing decisions remain discretionary to the fullest extent allowed by law.
• A staff role is voluntary community access unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise. It does not create employment, wages, ownership, partnership or authority to bind AUREK.
• If appointed, you may be required to follow additional staff rules, confidentiality expectations, security procedures and lawful directions. AUREK may suspend or remove staff access at any time.

event feedback

• Event feedback requires Discord login and is not anonymous.
• Feedback must be honest, constructive and based on your experience. Criticism is welcome; harassment, knowingly false accusations, spam or attempts to organise abuse are not.
• AUREK may use feedback to review events, identify patterns, support or train event staff, change systems and contact you for clarification. We are not required to implement a suggestion or provide an individual response.
• Do not use the feedback form for emergencies, safety reports, appeals or allegations requiring urgent action. Use the reporting routes in the Safety & Reporting Policy.

The Privacy Notice explains the Discord identity, application answers, event feedback, review notes, retention and access controls used for these forms. Required acknowledgement boxes record what you confirmed when sending the form; they do not waive legal rights.

9. user content, communications and suggestions

You retain any rights you already hold in content you submit. By posting or submitting content to an AUREK Service, you grant AUREK a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, display, adapt, moderate, archive and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and promote the community. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies reasonably retained in backups, moderation records, legal evidence or material already used with your permission.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit the content and that it does not violate law or another person’s rights. We may remove or restrict content at any time.

Suggestions, bug reports and ideas may be used without payment or obligation. Do not send confidential business ideas or material you do not want used.

10. payments and supporter benefits

If AUREK later offers paid packages, subscriptions, supporter benefits or merchandise, the price, deliverables and any specific conditions shown at checkout will also apply. Payments may be handled by a third-party processor under its own terms.

Except where applicable law gives you a cancellation, refund or other mandatory right, digital benefits already supplied may be non-refundable. Benefits remain subject to community rules and may be suspended or removed following misuse or a sanction. A chargeback or payment reversal made dishonestly may result in account restriction and recovery of reasonable costs. Nothing here limits statutory consumer rights.

11. third-party services and intellectual property

AUREK relies on or links to services operated by others, including Steam, Valve, Garry’s Mod, Facepunch, Discord, hosting providers, workshop creators and content-delivery services. We do not control their availability, security, terms or decisions and are not responsible for losses caused solely by them.

AUREK is an unofficial fan community. Star Wars and related names, characters and marks belong to Lucasfilm, Disney and/or their respective rights holders. Garry’s Mod and Facepunch marks belong to their respective owners; Steam and Valve marks belong to Valve; Discord marks belong to Discord. No affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement is claimed. See the Copyright & Trademark Notice.

12. availability, changes and service resets

The Services are provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, compatibility, a particular player count, continued development, preservation of data or that a feature will remain unchanged. Maintenance, attacks, provider failures, updates, licensing issues, owner decisions or technical faults may cause downtime or permanent closure.

We may update scripts, rules, maps, content, staffing, progression, economies and these Services at any time. Back up any material you are responsible for and do not rely on AUREK as the sole storage location for important information.

13. disclaimers and limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to that sentence and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

• the Services are provided without warranties about availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or error-free operation;
• AUREK is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, lost profits, lost business, lost opportunities, loss of goodwill, loss of virtual items or loss of data;
• for a consumer, we are responsible only for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach and not for business losses arising from personal use; and
• AUREK’s aggregate liability arising from the Services will not exceed the greater of £50 and the amount you paid directly to AUREK during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

You remain responsible for your device, internet connection, platform accounts, account security, user-created downloads and decisions made based on community content.

14. ending access

You may stop using AUREK at any time. We may end or restrict your access as described above. On termination, your permission to use the Services ends immediately. Clauses that by their nature should continue—including ownership, licences already relied upon, moderation evidence, liability limits, governing law and amounts owed—remain in effect.

Removal from one Service may result in removal from other AUREK Services. We are not required to export characters, roles, logs or virtual items when access ends, although privacy rights remain available as described in the Privacy Notice.

15. changes, severability and governing law

We may revise these Terms. The effective date at the top will change when a new version takes effect. We will use reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes through the website or Discord. Continued use after the new effective date constitutes acceptance, except where law requires a different form of consent.

If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. A delay in enforcement is not a waiver. We may assign these Terms as part of a reorganisation or transfer of the Services; you may not transfer your rights without written permission.

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove mandatory protections or court rights you have under the law of the country where you live.

For terms, moderation or legal questions, open an appropriate ticket in the official AUREK Discord and clearly label the request. Copyright notices should follow the process in the Copyright & Trademark Notice; privacy requests should follow the Privacy Notice.
